Informative note on the Protection of Personal Data

Before acquiring the personal data needed to the registration for the search service for lost property on trains FRECCE, Trenitalia S.p.A. invites you to carefully read this informative note about the protection of your personal data.

  • Data controller: Trenitalia S.p.A, represented by the pro-tempore Chief Executive Officer, can be contacted on titolaretrattamento@trenitalia.it, with registered office in Piazza della Croce Rossa, 1 - Rome.

II. Types of personal data

We indicate what types of data we ask for in this section

  • Data acquired directly from the data subject: Common data: personal details (name, surname, address), contact data (email, phone number).
  • Data acquired automatically during the web surfing: IP address, type of address, the ISP, information about the pages visited on the website, access time, permanence on the same page.

The aforementioned data will be treated with digital and paper supports, in order to guarantee suitable security and confidentiality measures.

Releasing the data needed to fulfil the aforementioned purposes is obligatory and refusal to supply them may make it impossible for Trenitalia S.p.A. to handle the claim to find the lost property.

In order to fulfil the aforementioned purposes, the personal data will be processed by:

Subjects that can be traced to Trenitalia S.p.A.:

  • External consultants and experts
  • Employees
  • Con.Fid. Station

Subjects that can’t be directly traced to Trenitalia S.p.A.:

  • FindMyLost (as Independent Owner)
  • Judicial authorities
  • Public security authorities

Your personal data will only be made accessible to subjects specifically authorized by Trenitalia S.p.A., or to companies that act as Data controllers, on behalf of Trenitalia S.p.A. and have signed a pertinent contract that duly disciplines the treatment assigned to them and the obligations regarding data protection. Your personal data will never be made available.

The updated list of those who receive the data can be requested by sending an email to the Data Manager on csvd@trenitalia.it, or to the Data Protection Officer on: protezionedati@trenitalia.it

V. Data preservation

We indicate how long we will keep your data in this section

The personal data you have given us for the purposes referred to in paragraph III will be kept for the time necessary to the management of the search/reclaim request of lost property and subsequently destroyed, without prejudice to preservation for the management of possible complaints or for specific requests of judicial authorities, adopting suitable measures to guarantee the data security and confidentiality.

VI. Rights of the Data Subject

Regulation EU 2016/679 (arts. from 15 to 23) grants specific applicable rights to data subjects. In relation to the treatment of your personal data, you have the right to ask Trenitalia S.p.A. for data access, rectification, cancellation, limitation, opposition and portability; in addition you can make complaints to the Supervising Authority, which is the authority in Italy for Data Protection.
